Terence Bridgett live in Cape Town soon!
“Lather the devil you know...”
Rumour has it there’s a new cabaret in town. So now you can have your koek and eat it. Or, at least, eat it while watching it. Or washing it. But only in 2010. And only at Die Burger Suidoosterfees, in the Artscape Arena on the 29th, 30th and the 31st of January.
Coinciding with his long awaited return to Isidingo, whilst, on the big screen in Disgrace, and having recently wrapped up both Pinocchio - the Pantomime and the 3rd season of Erfsondes, award-winning star of stage and screen, Terence Bridgett (South Africa’s original soap slut) slides off the small screen and onto the Arena stage at Artscape in cabaret. The foreshore may never be the same again. In this, his… erm… virgin venture into the world of the one man show, Terence takes a frank, revealing behind-the-scenes look at life as a ‘Soap Star’ and the thin, often blurred, always gilded line between fact, fantasy, foam, fluff, fame and fiction.
The show is directed by acclaimed Cape Town born actor and director, Kurt Wustmann, and tickling the ivories is renowned musical director, Coenraad Rall, keeping an eye on the smorgasbord of songs exploring everything: From leaving limo’s to losing your lithium... from mobs in Meyerton to media madness. And of course, lest we forget, a deep and meaningful reading from the Gospel according to Glamour…
Awarded 8 stars out of 10 by Jozi's The Citizen, the show was said to have a 'wickedly funny script' and Bridgett's performance was reportedly 'versatile, poignant and luminous'.
A cabaret, by a Capetonian, about the calamities, the crap, and the caviar of a career - that promises not to disappoint!
Tickets are available now at Computicket.
